Capitol Fun with a Capital F!

Our third graders braved the cold yesterday to explore our State Capitol. Both the weather AND the facts that we learned were totally cool!

We toured the House Chamber...

...and the Senate.

We learned a lot about our state's history, including some of the most significant battles...

...and how property was used as payment.

We even got to emboss our "titles" with the official seal of Texas!

We travelled back in time to see what life was life in early Texas...

...and imagined what it would be like to hold the star and sword like Lady Liberty herself!

We saw a cutaway model of the capitol building...

...and the real thing!

Some of us had so much fun we dreamt about it on the way back. :)

Fun with a capital F!
